Very casual, warm and inviting atmosphere. Daisy is one of those relaxed joints we've been eyeing for a while so glad we got a chance this past weekend. A bit late for lunch but nonetheless we drove over around late afternoon.
Service : Sweet, friendly and attentive. Impressive considering we came at an odd "in-between" lunch and dinner time frame. No complaints!
Food : We ordered Reuben Meatloaf and Roasted Vegetable Enchiladas (With house?made chorizo). We took some Sweet Things (Duh!) but Ill get to that later.
The Reuben Meatloaf was delicious! I don't know how but somehow they made the texture of it very similar to a well made crab cake! The combination of meats and spices in the loaf was perfect. The meatloaf itself was moist and you could taste the individual components of cheese and even sauerkraut! I love their version of 1000 Island sauce with chopped boiled eggs.
The Enchiladas dish was better than what I've had at a lot of traditional Mexican restaurants! Their chorizo was seasoned well and finely chopped so you get these scrumptious little nibbles throughout as you devour your dish. The black bean paste was sensational and can stand on its own as a dish in itself! The whole dish was portioned rather generously and the balance of flavors was to the point. Well done!
Now onto the Sweet Things I mentioned. We boxed a Peanut Butter cheesecake and a Standard Chocolate Cupcake as they ran out of all the Gooey/Filing ones :(.... Nonetheless, the frosting was rich and creamy and easily the best part of the cupcake. The cake itself was a tad dense and dry. Not too bad though. The cheesecake was baked very well and you'll love it if you like me love peanut butter!
All in all, if you haven't had a chance to drop by this joint, please do so!
