  • I moved here from Dallas, TX and have been putting off getting my hair cut out of fear of not finding another great stylist. After 8 months without a hair cut, I knew I had to find a salon. I had looked at some of the fancier salons in the Birkdale Village area, but the reviews were not stellar, so I kept looking. I found Accent Hair Design which had some great reviews on yelp, so I decided it was worth a try. I did accidentally drive by the place three times before actually finding it. It is kind of tucked away off of Old Statesville Road, don't blink or you'll miss it. I walked in and felt like I was on the set of Steel Magnolias, but more upscale. I was offered a beverage and welcomed. The staff is super friendly. The salon is in what used to be a house, now painted lavendar, so you really get that welcoming vibe with the "southern hospitality" charm. I went in for a keratin relaxer treatment and a hair cut. Bethany did my treatment and cut my hair and was incredibly attentive and personable. She asked clarifying questions several times throughout my haircut, to make sure she didn't cut off too much, nor too little. Then more questions again, regarding the style and clearly taking her time to make sure I got exactly what I wanted and that I was happy with the results. I walked out feeling like a million bucks but didn't have to spend a million. The owner, the receptionist, the whole crew are so kind and made me feel like I was an old friend even though it was my first time there. Well, they have certainly earned a loyal customer on my behalf as well as a friend.
