| - I finally made my way to dine at the infamous Burger Bar after my cousin came to town.
Luckily we arrived at 4pm, just before the Saturday night dinner rush. We were seated quickly and had our drinks in hand within minutes. The ambiance was eclectic: there was a small television in our booth playing a sports channel, but I do not recall any audio. The lighting was dim, matching the dark mahogany wood seating. As expected, the crowd mostly consisted of visiting tourists. Attire is casual.
I ordered a Hawaiian "burger", er chicken sandwich. Why didn't I order a BURGER? I am not sure. I suppose the pineapple just sounded so appealing to me. Even more ironic, my cousin ordered the Salmon. I know - who orders salmon at a Burger joint?! Apparently fresh fish , particularly salmon, is hard to come by where she lives.
Anyway, my chicken sandwich arrived and to my chagrin, the chicken tasted very dry. The pineapple I was craving didn't really compliment the chicken as I had anticipated. I suppose I can't discount them too much since I didn't order a burger; but how hard is it to cook chicken?
The salmon, however, was reportedly delicious - and I think that is what was important. My cousin was visiting, not me.
Maybe next time I will actually order a burger. Hopefully it will be a little better prepared than my chicken - juicy and delicious- as one would expect it to be.
