Did this place change owners?!? The walls are now bare, the old cakes that adorned the pedestals on the wall are gone, and the good service and welcoming environment that I grew accustomed to have disappeared. It's sad to see how quickly things shift and change hands in this city :(
We arrived on a Saturday night to a completely empty store with no one behind the counter. We waited at least 5 minutes until someone finally walked in the store and greeted us (I presume the new owner) and he walked in the back to get someone to come out and serve us. Very poor "new" first impression.
The pastries do not have the same charm they used to. The cheesecakes were not nearly as mouth wateringly good as they used to be, and the chocolate chip cookie left so much to be desired. There used be little signs up in front of each pastry telling you what it was. Now you have to ask.
I read on a tip that they no longer accept the check-in offer on Yelp, although I can't personally attest to that since I forgot to check yelp before ordering and paying.
They now are partnering, I guess, with a bread company.
This place does not have the draw it used to have and I won't be back soon. Between 346 Patisserie suddenly closing its doors, and this place going so sharply downhill, there isn't a great place to satisfy a sweet tooth anywhere in the immediate area.
