This was pretty cool for Scottsdale, a bit older than what we expected. The lobby and entrance area is abosultely gorgeous. New decor and cold water station. Front desk is further to the right corner, hard to tell when you just walk in.
Location: great location! A short walk to Old Town and the hip area (downtown?) and the big fashion mall.
Parking: free parking for guest, underground or above ground. They give you a parking permit, but try to park underground so your car is not in the sun all day long.
Beds: Very uncomfortable, and this is where they lose a star. Our bed was a king and on the first floor. I think it was broken or overused. You know when you constantly sleep in the middle and then it forms a hole in the middle and then everywhere you lay down you eventually fall down in the middle? (or sinkhole of the bed) Well our bed had one of those and at night time I can feel myself or my friend falling down in the middle. It was a deep bed hole.
Room: The room was very big but you can tell it is older, I'm not sure if they renovated the rooms because we still the big AC near the window and the room itself smelled old. But it wasn't too bad. We had a mini fridge and a microwave that probably only fit a cup noodle. Our room was also on the 1st floor and our window faced the busy streets. They had this blind that looked see-through and we weren't sure that people can see us from the outside. But we didn't like our room windown on the main street- it wasn't noisy but for safety issues I'm a bit paranoid.
Hotel Bar: special happy hour at 4pm! Drinks were extremely cheap during happy hour ($2-5) and drinks not included where like $8ish. The female bartender made the best mojitos ever. I could dirnk that all day next to the pool.
Pool: definitely needed on in the hot weather. They provide big clean towels.
Not too shabby for the price and location. We would definitely come back to this hotel!
