Considering this is location is now a member of the Mon Restaurant Group, I guess it would be easiest to compare this place to Goyemon.
Not as many choices as Goyemon. Appetizer items such as kama, gyoza, yakitori, and even takoyaki. But you won't find any udon or ramen, grilled pork, spicy tuna on rice crackers, etc. There is a blackboard with daily special however.
The quality of the fish is similar to Goyemon or any other AYCE sushi restaurant, not Sushi Dai, but definitely not shark chum. The service was above average, but sometimes the chefs were a little distracted with the tv or chatting with each other.
I guess you can describe this Sushi Mon as "Goyemon-lite" or a little brother to Goyemon. It is a solid AYCE sushi addition to the west side of the valley for anyone who doesn't want to drive all the way to Sushi Mon's "older brother."
