If I were to rate this gym last week, they would have received a 4 star rating for the variety of equipment, friendliness of the staff and how clean the venue was. But today, after getting ZERO notice from the company that they were closing yesterday for good, I feel all they deserve is 1 star.
I don't consider the EOS generated email, sent the exact same-day as Smart Gym closed their doors (stating they have bought Smart Gym's clients' contracts), as communication from Smart Gym. I'm sure many people saw that email and thought it was spam - if it even made it into in their inbox to begin with. (Mine defaulted to the spam folder, it was pure luck I happened to be looking for something else and saw it)
I was able to cancel my contract by going in person to the site this morning, and therefore am not being auto transferred to EOS, but the lack of communication by the Smart Gym owners was completely unprofessional. I want to say though, the staff handling all of the questions and complaints today at the front desk were amazingly calm and VERY professional - kudos to all of you for handling yourselves in such an upstanding way while having to deal with angry/frustrated former members.
I hope this post helps with people looking at joining Smart Gym at any of their other locations. Consider this as a heads-up regarding the company/owners itself - people need to be aware of how they conduct their business practices.
