My first experience here was a pick up order. My husband wanted pork katsu. After a few hours at the mall, I was too exhausted to cook. I ordered the pork katsu for him and chicken katsu for myself. The pork and chicken cutlets were perfectly cooked. Just the right amount of crispiness with moist and tender meat. It was a generous portion of meat with rice, salad, and miso soup.
My second time, we decided to dine in with our friends. It was neat to "make" your tonkatsu sauce. I'm not sure if I did it right as I never grinded sesame seeds to make tonkatsu sauce before. It turned out good so that's all that mattered to me at that point.
My husband ordered the same dish and I opted for the katsu donburi this time. We ordered the chicken karaage and the panko crusted soft shell crab for appetizers and sampled my friend's beef tataki. Small, tasty portions but sufficient to whet our appetite for our main meal.
I was pretty much satisfied with my donburi. One minor complaint. I noticed I got half the amount of meat as the pork katsu dinner which was the same price. So I thought it was a bit overpriced. It was still good though. I will have to try the curry katsu next time.
The service was just OK both times. Another minor complaint that I like to mention-Our friends had ordered chicken karaage too. I'm not sure why mine came out first when they should come out at the same time. I don't like eating by myself and having hungry people staring at my app where I feel obligated to share.
Lastly, the restaurant is cute, quaint, and small. I wouldn't come here with a large group. Maybe four people max.
