I decided that I needed a little pick-me-up lunch around the holiday time so I treated myself to a lunch at Storms Restaurant. I'm old enough to remember when this same space was the Three Lions Restaurant back in the 1980's. Whew! The Three Lions Restaurant was memorable because it was one of my first exposures to a "white tablecloth" restaurant and I thought that I was ballin' and shot callin" by going there.
Fast forward and I have been to a few restaurants since then and I know what "true" white tablecloth restaurants are now, Storms ain't that, but it is a comfortable "My house is your house" restaurant. You know that type of place where the waitress calls you "Hon" and you don't mind because that's the way they roll...
I decided not to eat in one of my employer's cafeterias one day and decided to go to Storms for lunch. Chicken Marsala, pasta side with olive oil and garlic, side salad and Italian bread. Nothing fancy, just solid "ole school" Italian mom and pop food. Everything was served promptly, hot and without much ado. I appreciated that and the food cost less than a comparable meal at my cafeteria. I actually enjoyed my meal without pretenses. Some times, that's just all that you need.
