It is with disappointment that I write this review. Not because the Jays lost but because of the actual infrastructure. The Sky Dome is a concrete & plain coliseum. Perhaps because the dome was covering it, I am not impressed with the general building.
Level 500 has adequate ball park food (the usual hot dogs, pretzels, burgers, nuts) along with pop corn, fries and apparently poutine. I ordered the hot dog & fries combo and survived! No stomach ache! Yeah! The fries were great - they had a dash of pepper flakes (paprika? chili powder? mmm I could not recognize it but knew it was a pepper spice - loved those fries). Beer is limited to the sponsor: Budweiser. Overall, the food is uninspired - I wish there was more selection - and the beverage choices limited.
As you are walking around Level 500 looking for a food stand, you can't help but feel like a left-over of some concrete dream of olden times. I just don't like it! I need something bright and flashy!
At any rate, I do like that the Level 500 seats have a guard rail. Useful if you are imbibing Budweisers just as it is if you are afraid of heights!
The diamond field is astro turf....There is something so frumpy and sad about it. I just could not love this stadium. But I did enjoy the baseball game!
