Shameful. Embarrassing. Execrable. Those are just three adjectives that come to mind when I think about how my good friend, we'll call her "Bingo", was treated at Valley Hospital's Psych Ward. She was completely robbed of her dignity and any self-respect she might have had while being "treated" through children's party activities. Contact with loved ones is discouraged, especially in the beginning. In Tent City, Sheriff Arpaio allows inmates to call your spouse upon arrival, and you'll still somehow have more dignity walking around with a dunce cap and pink underwear. This facility is a stain on the mental health field.
