| - I don't write reviews much but I want to share my Advantage Car rental experience at the Las Vegas airport. I have been fairly happy renting from them for over 2 years about once a month until this past weekend, when I was asked to show proof of insurance at the rental counter. Come on tell me how many people carry their car insurance copies in their wallets? I thought the lady behind the counter was joking and told her that I have been renting more than 20 times from them and not once I was required to show proof of insurance. She said I could not rent the car if I did not show the proof. I asked for a reason but I was not given one. At that point I was fed up with this company (I will summarize below), I told her that she could go ahead and cancel my reservation and I was going to Hertz.
Summary:
* If price is your number one priority, then go with Advantage; But if you want hassle free experience, then try Hertz, National, Alamo, etc
* Expect waiting in lines, long lines
* Expect upsell, especially on insurance. You will be told that your own insurance company may cover the damage but they will charge you loss of revenue.
* Expect to walk to the car and mark any defects (Hertz, National, Alamo do not require this)
* I was OK with all of the above, frankly I figured what I was getting into when opting for lower prices. However cheap prices do not have to go with poor customer service, or rude customer service. Think Southwest, how did they succeed? Customer Service Customer Service Customer Service
