  • Avoid Avis at the airport location at all costs!!! They are understaffed, rude and incompetent. 1 hour in line at 1050p on a Friday night is ridiculous. I get to counter which only two employees working, one kept leaving for 5-10 min at a time. The employee says it's Friday we are busy can't you see, the whole rental terminal was empty and only a few at other car rental companies. It's busy because you are lazy, understaffed and poorly trained. I complained she stated in a loud voice you can rent from someone else. I asked is this a threat, to which she keeps typing on the computer. She has to ask for my reservation number 3 times. I advise anyone to not rent from avid at this location. I call customer service which by the way is in Mexico and closes at 7p central time, so much for any help to resolve issues. They need automated kiosks or some companies I have used have video agent right there and was done quickly. Avis still uses old renting style system which takes forever unless you are a preferred member. Go to enterprise or another car agency while in Phoenix area.
