| - So, I'm not big on chain restaurants, but my experience with Brio over the years has allowed it to remain on our list of family-friendly options. My most recent visit did nothing to dispel that notion.
Thursday night dinner...place was relatively busy. Fortunately, I was seated right away. The reason for the fourth star is our server, Kristen. She was very friendly, and generally had our food and drinks to our table in short order. She was also very nice to our kids, a touch that means a lot to the parents of three kids in their single-digits.
The food is not bad. My lasagna tasted the same as my last visit (very filling), although a bit pricy at $18. My biggest complaint (besides the price bump) was the calamari appetizer. The portion was much smaller than we remembered, and for $11, they shorted us a bit. We were willing to overlook it because everything else was okay, but it didn't start our meal off on the greatest foot.
There are a few better options for Italian in the area (which I haven't tried yet), but Brio is perfect for families.
