No one WANTS to go to a hospital. No one requests out of the blue to get physiotherapy. Sometimes we just find ourselves in certain situations that calls for it and more often than not, we don't choose where we'll end up.
Sparing you the details, I got into an accident that resulted with me being in a wheelchair for a month followed by a couple of months on crutches and a cane. It was post-wheelchair where the doctors referred me to St. John's Rehab. I was told that St. John's Rehab was "the best". Here I am thinking "well, of course you're going to tell me 'they're the best'" I have no previous experience to challenge this claim so I'm shit out of luck and am forced to make the trek twice a week by cab costing me mucho deniro.
The experience before getting there kicked off with a phone call from the therapist who would be working with me. The hallways are lined with hand sanitizer dispensers and the equipment in the therapy room was in great condition.
When I got there, I filled out a form stating my goals and from there the therapist worked closely with me to maintain them. One of the goals, believe it or not, was to walk in my beloved high heels again. I was not laughed at. And though I'm not quite there yet, I've been set on the runway to recovery thanks to my physio that not only helped me physically but gave me my confidence back that I thought I lost on the side of the road.
Now allow me to veer this review away from that somewhat sad yet hopeful ending to say the cafeteria is quite nice serving up freshly baked muffins (where I met a little something called a caramel coffee cake muffin). What? Food is important when recovering, right?
