In November we stayed for 5 nights at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Las Vegas for the 5th time in the past 4 years. This continues to be our "go to" hotel in Las Vegas. It is quiet (no casino) yet located right in the middle of everything on the strip so easy access to gambling, shopping, etc.
Room: This time we stayed in a cityscape suite. Normally we stay in a strip view suite. While the suite was clean and spacious, the furniture is beginning to look a tiny bit worn/used and the last two days we were there the lighting had some problems (switches worked inconsistently and often there was a significantly delayed response). We were on a lower floor than usual (10th floor this time) and a few nights we were woken up by outside noise, which has never happened before.
Food: We love Mozen (the cafe/main dining option)! The staff are friendly and on point. We ate breakfast there every morning. One morning my husband and I both had on dark pants and the host that escorted us to the table noticed this and took the white linen napkins from the table and gave us black linen to avoid the possibility of getting white lint on our pants! The food is consistently high quality and well prepared. The menu is limited somewhat for breakfast and more so for dinner, but we've never had a complaint with what we ordered. We had room service at night on two occasions and had better food both times than when we've eaten in many of the restaurants along the strip.
Spa: I use the spa every time we go and although I think the prices are a bit high, the facility is always very clean and well maintained and the massage therapists have all been on the superior side in terms of professionalism and quality of massage.
Staff across the board have always been professional and helpful. For example: I was going to a hotel further down the strip to gamble and when the doorman called for a taxi but couldn't get one right away, he called up the hotel car for me so I wouldn't have to wait!
Although we've tried most of the nicer hotels on the strip, so far nothing we've tried tops the Mandarin!
