Saw a new vehicle online and drove 100 miles to the dealership to purchase the car. Was told by the internet sales person that their trade-in's are bought at 120% of trade in value off of KBB. Found out that their trade in offer was insulting and a waste of my time. They agreed to come up $3500 to "get my business and be aggressive" I declined the offer and was told that newer 4runners are not sought after vehicles and they called every Toyota dealer from PHX to Dallas and nobody was interested in the vehicle. I was also told that the quoted price changed because it had all the rebates offered and I didn't qualify for a few of them. I left the dealership but the wife still wanted the new Camaro SS.
I sold the 4runner the following day for $7500 over their offer and made arrangements to purchase the new vehicle with cash. I informed the sales manager and sales person that I would be there at 3PM and they confirmed the car would be good to go and I was guaranteed a fast transaction and the best deal in the valley.
at 1PM and at 2 PM I received 2 phone calls from 2 separate sales managers informing me that they just sold the car I was coming to pick up. Great business ethics Thorobred.
But like their salesman said they have 13 other competitors in the valley and I was able to find one that wanted my money and gave a better deal.
I would strongly avoid this dealership at all cost, they are as unethical and shaddy as they come.
