You GOTTA try the Calamari...!
They have a new Dinner menu and a new Happy Hour menu. We stopped in yesterday before the Penguins game and as always- Michelle greeted us with a warm smile and remembered our names. ;) Roy was behind the bar and automatically grabbed a glass to pour us our regular drinks. The taps must have been freshly cleaned because the Coors Light tasted perfect and I LOVE the chilled glass with every fresh beer. We were going to just have one before heading over to PPG Paints Arena but after Roy slipped the HH menu onto the bar and the calamari caught my eye- I had to try it. It came out in about 10 minutes and the breading on it was perfect- light & airy and the calamari itself was soft & tender. Calamari is a difficult dish to get right- cooked to little and its raw, cooked too much and it's like rubber bands. This was perfect! Served with a warmed cup of marinara for dipping and overtop a small bed of delicious hot pepper jardinière. I mixed the jardinière with the marinara and it was perfect. That hour flew by and before we knew it- it was time to head to the Pens game. Do yourselves a favor- TRY THE CALAMARI...!!!
