  • I like them better than Schwartz. Main Deli Steak House does not get the recognition and hype of the competition across the street. Do not let that stop you from dining here. In my opinion, the Smoked Meat is more delicious here. Admittedly, they were my backup choice. Since it was my parents and my sister and her family's first time trying Montreal's Smoked Meat, I wanted them to try the world famous Schwartz's Deli. Fortunately, their line was so long, and we did not have an extra hour to wait. So, I brought them to Main Deli Steak House across the street. There was no wait and plenty of available seating. Service was attentive without being intrusive. Ambiance was comfortable. Our order came out in good time. All the food we tried was scrumptious. My favorites were the Smoked Meat Poutine and the Smoked Meat sandwich. Their smoked meat is very flavorful. Makes everything taste better. Maybe one day, I will take them back to Schwartz's just so they can say they've tried it. In my opinion, though, Main Deli Steak House is the superior choice in beautiful Montreal!!!! Don't take my word....check them out yourself.
