| - I kept seeing this place coming out of the gym (dangerous place to put a bakery), and was curious. I love baked goods, so trust me when I say I had to stop myself from going multiple times. I was doing a small party for a friend, and finally had a reason to go in and see what was up.
First off, this place is adorable. Very creative cakes all around, clean, and just a general good vibe. There wasn't any customers, and one staff. I told her that I wanted to order some desserts for a small party in a couple weeks. She was very helpful and told me about all the different desserts they had. I ended up choosing a little bit of almost everything, which she wrote on an order form, and I was on my way.
Fast forward two weeks, and I come in to pick up my order. The same girl is working, and she informs me that somehow, someone took the order form she had made, and threw it away. Hm, okay. Well, I'll just pick from what's in the display case, it can't be too different. I honestly don't remember each thing I ordered, but I do remember that some of them were no longer in the case. Bummer.
Overall, the consensus at the party was that they were all a little too sweet. That may be a taste preference, but when my husband (who inhales candy and soda) says the macaroon was too sweet, that's saying something. I can only rate the desserts I had (mini cheesecake, chocolate ganache, mini tarts, some kind of passion fruit thing, macaroons, cake pops), not their cakes or other items.
For the high price, and the "hype" on yelp, I guess I expected more. I may come back if I need a beautiful cake, but probably not for their dessert case items.
