I took my one cat here because she had a red, crusty skin problem. I was able to get a same-day appointment for the late afternoon/evening. (They have drop-in, no-appointment hours Monday-Friday from 10 AM - 2 PM if you are able to go then.) The doctor said that my cat was overall healthy, and he gave her two injections for her skin. The total cost was $130. Six days later, my cat's skin was starting to clear, but I noticed that she did not want to move, and she dragged her left back leg when she walked. I made another evening appointment to see this vet, but when I noticed that my cat's pad was blue and cold, I canceled the appointment and instead went to an emergency hospital that could see me sooner and had the capability to treat all health problems. The emergency hospital told me that my cat had a heart murmur and thromboembolism (blood clots). We had to put her to sleep. Penn Animal Hospital is able to perform certain procedures on pets. I wish that they could have done more for detecting my cat's health problems, such as assessing the heart more.
