This studio is tucked away in one of the many pockets of downtown Calgary. It's a block away from the Drum and Monkey. They don't have their own parking but when I've gone the streets have been open and free for parking, despite the pesky construction around the area.
The instruction has been great. They have a "try anything" class late on weekdays (monday) which offered new playful poses which I loved since I'm always for new ways to move on the ground. The white noise of the studio was a little discerning if I paid attention to it but once instruction began then it wasn't much of a hassle. The temperature of the studio can get really really hot.
Its a little far for my location but if I lived around the DT area, I certainly would consider joining this place. But then again I'm a cheapskate and won't be joining any yoga studio for years, HAHAHA
A few things that I found odd but over time didn't' really care for:
-They don't have scan cards for members but do have an online scheduling system for classes. Hopefully my impostor doesn't realize this
-They don't have a separate water fountain for drinks, their sink tap is apparently filtered. I don't really care but can see how people would prefer their water coming from a different pipe.
One night I rushed to get downtown and had to cut through blackfoot and into that silly traffic circle. Unfortunately I got caught with a freight train express that lasted for 20 minutes. I called Hot Yoga and they were kind enough to cancel my reservation for a class without charging me, in fact the girl was really nice and kept conversation with me over the whole train passing. Ah humanity, you do surprise me from time to time!
