  • I was a member for 6 months and was unable to get what I wanted out of the club. I was interested in group fitness classes and use of the outdoor pool in the summer after work and weekends. The fitness classes (aeobics, kickboxing, pilates, zumba, yoga) were always very crowded during the peak times I needed to go, if I could even get in. This was my biggest issue since I'd arrive there for a class only to find out its full, big waist of time since there's no way to preregister. I also wanted to have swim lessons for my 6 year old, but no kid swim classes are offered on Saturdays except for babies. My sister belongs to a Lifetime Fitness in Colorado and the emphaiss is so much different - very family oriented with lots of fun activities for families and kids on the weekends. This club is not that way at all. I asked about volleyball / karate classes for kids and they looked at me like I was asking them to fly me to the moon. I told them that other Lifetime Fitness centers offer this and they just simply said they don't offer any kids classes for any age child for these activities...ughhh. So my family membership was a waist. There is no indoor or outdoor volleyball courts or tennis courts and the pool is not very large compared to other LF centers. The overwhelming indoor space (I mean, lots and lots ) is dedicated to fitness machines (treadmills, elliptical, stair steppers, bikes, weights etc.), as well as the indoor pool and basketball court, so most of where the expense went into the club are for areas I'll never use. If you want fitness classes, before signing up, I'd recommend you check out their class schedule to see if what you like is offered when you want. Though the club is opened 24 hours/day, there were often no classes offered past 6:30-7:00 pm during the week or 11:30 on weekends. The outdoor pool in the summer was extremely crowded - so much so that we often couldn't find a chair in the shade on weekends. I was willing to pay a preimum for the club to get some nice pool time, but it was no better than our public pool in terms of crowds, noice, and relaxation. Evenings and Saturdays it's often difficult just to find a parking spot. The family dressing room is very small. About the only thing I really liked was the childcare center as it had great hours and activities for the 10 and under set. If you play basketball you're in luck, as there is a huge space for basketaball conveniently located on the 1st floor with an active group of leagues. Or if you want access to a lot of workout machines or can go off-peak, this might be your place. But if you work and need evenings and weekends or kids weekend activities, I'd recommend to go elsewhere. For me, the hefty price was not worth fighting the crowd in the parking lot, for the overly crowded classes and pool. It looks enormous from the outside, but it just doesn't offer what I was looking for.
