  • I tried this place for the first time. I've been eating ketogenic for several months, so I eat quite a bit of salads, but you have to stay away from ones heavy on fruit. I wanted some variety over where I've been going, so I checked the menu out for this place online to see if there was anything keto friendly. The Gulf of Mexico salad was 8 net carbs, great! Well, I walked down there, and the woman who took my order was very friendly. That is where you are getting your extra star. The décor was fine in a sheek kinda way, very limited seating. Free cucumber water was a nice touch. Anyway, it took what seemed like forever to make my salad, there was only one person waiting ahead of me. I get it, maybe the shrimp was cooked to order, but these things were TINY, like popcorn shrimp you buy for a two year old tiny, which is absurd for a $10 salad in and of itself, but especially if that was what made it take so long. Crisp cooks chicken and shrimp to order and it is way faster than this place. They make like 10 salads to every one here. The salad was not mixed, no dressing mixed in, just things piled on top, so I mixed it all. I mean, I get some people don't like that, at least ask. So I decide to eat this thing. It was flavorless. The only thing that was good was the guacamole, which was probably a literal teaspoon. They used regular spinach instead of baby spinach, which I don't think I've ever had a restaurant do before for a salad. I certainly would never do that myself when making a salad. The red onion was sliced to between a quarter and a half an inch. I'm not sure why you'd do that for a salad, it makes it nearly impossible to eat without impaling each individual piece of onion with the fork. The whole thing was just bad. After a few bites I was really wishing I had gone somewhere else, but I'm not one to waste food, so I finished it. Not really filling, not good, 90% spinach, which was mostly full grown so it was more bitter than baby spinach. No redeeming quality. Kudos to whoever was working the register to get y'all the extra star. You want a decent salad? Go to crisp? You want quick and good? Go to Panera. There are lots of options in this price range, and you can eat keto friendly without it tasting like cardboard. Go somewhere else.
