The El Dorado is a Food Fight, Inc restaurant. It is one of the better Food Fight Restaurants. I'd call the fare - Tex
Mex comfort food for the Midwest. Perhaps Lake Wobegon Tex Mex.
The specialty drinks are the wowza of the menu. The hand crafted libations will find a way to wet your whistle. I had a ginger honey margarita on the rocks. Pretty darned tasty, as was the Bullet Smash.
I also had the Big Tex... A sampling of their BBQ. It was as good as any other BBQ in town. The beef briquette and pulled pork were fine. The pork ribs were OK.
I thought the star of anything I sampled was the empanadas - these were fantastic. Little pasties filled with briquette and I think mushrooms - three to an order - but very rich and savory.
Companions ordered the Chef's
Tacos - a night special, chipotle tenderloin, and the fillet of catfish. The tacos were the standout of these bunch. One pulled pork and one veggie.
We split the two dessert differing a 4-ways. One order of flan and one order of pecan pie. Both were tasty with the edge going to the pecan pie.
