| - After my second, wonderful visit to Evoke, I thought it was about time that I Yelp'ed about it!
First off, let me say that I didn't go to Evoke for a standard haircut. I went in looking to be rescued! I had someone else cut my hair four days prior to going to Evoke, and I looked like a cross between a tiger and Kate Gosselin. Let me tell you, it wasn't pretty. But after leaving, I looked amazing and even strangers were complimenting my awesome new pixie cut. Seriously. Absolute strangers.
Reception: Great. Phone is always answered promptly and I've been greeted and seated immediately after walking in on both visits. Waiting area is clean, lots of magazines to browse through.
Stylist: I had my hair styled by Daniel and now I'm kind of in love. He was friendly, professional and intuitively knew what I hated about my hair and what needed to be done. After 5 minutes of just looking at and playing with my hair, he perfectly explained what was wrong and what he was going to do to fix it. He gave me a quick scalp and shoulder massage, washed my hair, and then got to work. You know what my least favourite thing about getting my hair cut is? The small talk. I hate being chatty with people I barely know. Now, I don't know if it's because Daniel is a guy, but he talked to me politely for about ten minutes and then he focused completely on my hair. To me, that's the sign of a true professional. I've had too many "friendly" female stylists who tell me all about their personal lives and don't concentrate on how I want my hair done. My experience with Daniel definitely earned 5 stars.
Price: Yes, Evoke is pricey. But as far as I'm concerned, it's 100% worth it. Did I mention that strangers have been complimenting my hair? STRANGERS.
