  • Remember the days when Starbucks would give you a coupon for a free coffee when they either made a mistake or it took too long? Well, that is a thing of the past. On a recent visit to our local Starbucks here in Calgary, we had to wait 10 minutes for our coffees and they didn't even come out right. We were at a location in Red Deer a couple of months ago, on the north side of the city at Village Mall, and it took forever for our coffees and there was no one else there but us! It was mystifying. And we didn't get so much as an apology. My husband is a very frequent coffee drinker and he used to be totally loyal to Starbucks, due in part to the fact that they did make up for their inadequacies by giving coupons for future drinks, but now that they don't seem to care about that sort of thing, he's going wherever is close these days. And thank goodness because we used to drive around on holidays or whenever, looking for a Starbucks location. It used to drive me crazy!
