| - Needless to say I was Bold face LIED to, INSULTED and HUMILIATED...
They told me after my experience at Larry Jay Mitsubishi "We don't care about your credit past, we can get anybody financed they only work with about 10 banks, we work with over 40 and we'll do everything we can to get you financed."
WRONG AGAIN!!!!!
Here's my scenerio and experience with them;
Went in, I know my credit stinks because of a number of things (divorce, economy etc.), I'm trying to rebuild it...
I work contract, income is about 3.75 times the Median Income for the zip code I live in.
(Wednesday 12/10/2014)
Sat with the salesman, they ran my application through the banks they use, the salesman came back with an offer from Sterling Bank $3000 down, I accepted but needed to do $1500 that week and $1500 the following. There was nobody from the bank available (7pm) to authorize that and probably wouldn't be before they closed so the salesman was good enough to have me take off and he'd work on it the next day...
(Thursday 12/11/2014)
Got a call from the dealership the next day, she said I was approved, after clarifying a few times and she said "I spoke to Rick in finance, Sterling has approved the loan, $1500 tomorrow, $1500 next Friday, so you can come in, pay the $1500, they'll finalize the paperwork but you can't take the car home until the full $3,000 down is paid next week"... I was totally fine with that ... then she said "the only thing they're working on is whether they'll possibly be able to let you take the car home tomorrow or if you have to wait until next week, but it is a 100% done deal, the car is yours, congratulations"!! Needless to say I was pretty stoked, was offered to work overtime the next day but I was like "nope ... going to part of the down and secure my new car tomorrow"... Had I only Known...
(Friday 12/12/2014)
I was so excited I could barely contain myself ... so my wife and I ran to the dealership, figuring we were going to be in and out in short order, after all, all we had to do is sign the loan paperwork and give them the $1,500 towards the down right?!?
Well, Gus (the sales manager) had us come into his office, started out by saying "you know what your credit situation is...", (my thought of what would come next was 'we're not going to be able to let you take the car home until next week when the full down payment is satisfied') ... NOPE!!!! his next words were "we couldn't get you financed because they don't think you have good job stability being at the company you're with for only 3 months and living in 4 states in the last 5 years (didn't seem to matter that they know I'm a contractor and have been doing the same work for over 22 years and the longest lapse of employment I've had (once) was about 2 weeks over the last 10 years). Then Gus proceeded to say "We can still get you in to a late model low milage car, if you're interested I can compile a list"... We said 'sure, it would be worth a look'... well, he came back and said "the best one they had we "qualified" for is a Suzuki Forenza" ... come to find out it is a 2005 or 2006 with about 160,000 miles on it ... it was everything I could do to maintain composure...like we were so desperate we would jump on something that was worth less than the down payment we were going to pay on the new Outlander Sport
Then to add Insult to Injury ... I got a text the next day saying "We have recieved your request and have som GREAT NEWS!!! Please call us, CONGRATS!!!...
Needless to say, I have a loan on a 2013 Harley Davidson (they were willing to take a chance) in "Good Standing" so my credit score is increasing, and when it gets in to the mid to upper 700's where I want it, I WON'T GO TO ANY PLANET AUTOMOTIVE DEALERSHIP!!!
Go somewhere else and save yourself the anguish ...
