I moved in because I got a great move in deal for a newly renovated apartment and was really trying to stay within a certain budget.
I've been here about 7 months now and although it's nice, I'm a little disappointed.
First of all, if you're a minority, get ready for funny looks. I've met a nice neighbor and a really sweet Hispanic maintenance man but the rest of the staff is rude. I regularly greet the maintenance men that does his rounds in the morning and I think he's yet to greet me back, the office staff is rather unpleasant and most residents also seem to be bothered by my bi racial family. It's just not a friendly environment. But they were great when I signed the lease ;)
Also, most of the renovations are quickly wearing so I wonder what quality was really used on the flooring and cabinets.
I'd recommend Bayside as a last resort if you get a great deal to move in but I'm just not really that impressed. I've lived in some great apartments and was really hoping to love it here too.
