| - I am addicted to working out... not in a bad way, but I try to get 2 workouts in everyday. Usually its running, spinning, or another form of cardio in the mornings, and then a weight resistance routine like yoga, pole fitness, weights, etc at night. I consider myself to be in very good shape, and its rare that I find a group workout that really challenges me. However, in the past few months I've plateaued. I needed to change it up, so I tried Orange Theory Arcadia. I LOVE the workout! The first half of the class is interval running, which I don't normally do... I can run 8-10 miles easy, but 3 miles at OTF doing intervals kills me!! Not only do I feel like this will help me break my plateau, but it also seems to be helping me improve my speed in distance running. The second half of the class is circuit weight training, which is also great. In an hour, I burned more calories than I usually do after both my daily workouts.
So far, I've been to 3 OTF classes, and I plan on continuing to attend. I've liked all the instructors I've tried so far- everyone has really pushed me! Bryan's routine this morning was killer. My favorite music was in Jesse's class though... if you like EDM like I do, go to Jesse's class. He even times the high intensity intervals on the treadmills to the drops!
The only con I can really see is that this location is too busy for its size- every class is full, and there is only one shower, so if you need to go straight into work after class like I do, its kind of tricky. However, the OTF peeps tell me that they are opening another location nearby in a few months, so that should take some of the traffic.
