  • I went to the spa yesterday with a friend of mine to celebrate his birthday! It was a total disappointment. I am a local and love going to the spas to relax and decompress. I glanced at a few of the previous reviews as I wanted to write a useful review that might cover some topics others didn't mention. After reading Betsy E's review I realized she already did my job and I couldn't do better. Bottom line was this place is gigantic....with tons of common areas, hallways, elevators, etc. and a super tiny, uncomfortable, difficult to relax in spa. Most disappointing were the four tiny hot tubs that were barely warm and were 1/2 full of the steps to get into the thing. Two guys could sit in one but three would feel like a sausage festival. What seemed really ironic was that the spa pool outside was even warmer than the hot tubs. I would have called it a relaxation pool if it wasn't for the loud music blaring from Aira's "Liquid" party pool below. This place is also so overdone with lights its crazy and keeps a person from relaxing. I had to laugh as even when I was outside in the spa pool they had lights on above it even though it was super bright out. Sitting in the steam room felt like you were on an operating table with glaring lights above. I counted 15 lights on in the steam room I wasn't sure if I was in a tanning bed or a steam room. Even the Sauna was lit up like crazy. No wonder people think it has a hospital feel to it. The relaxing room was a joke with a couple snuggled up in one of the ugly cubicles and that area seemed like it was a 1/4 mile from the rest of the spa area. The showers weren't any good...the one in the steam room wouldn't go hot or cold..just warm. I also noticed that after an initial tour no one ever came around to ask how things were or offer any service, drinks, etc. The layout of the place really seemed messed up. Going to a spa is a very nice experience in and of itself so I am sure if someone hasn't exprienced the great spas that I have would maybe enjoy the spa at Aria. For a veteran spa junkie like me I thought it was unbelievable that someone didn't put more thought into this place especially for a place that was so hyped as City Center. Overall my biggest complaint is that it just doesn't have a warm, relaxing feel to it and found it impossible to relax in. I won't go back!
