| - We thought that because there are many positive reviews of this company on various online sites they would be a solid and dependable company to deal with. We were wrong - and if I could give less than one star, it would more accurately reflect our experience with them. When we first contacted them in May of this year, we wanted a new valance for our retractable awning and the fabric flipped over due to fading. The valance was not fabricated properly initially and we had to wait for that to be corrected. When they finally came out to flip the awning itself, they left the fabric too loose and it subsequently got caught in the mechanized "arm" and was ripped. We were told by them that it was our "bad luck" and we'd have to pay $580 to have a whole new panel fabricated, even though we'd had NO issues with the operation of the awning before their installers had worked on it. We again waited several weeks before they could install the new panel. The new panel was too short and prohibited operation of the awning, so again we called them back to address this new issue. They ended up taking the other two panels of the awning so that their fabricator could attempt to make them all the same length and we haven't seen the awning since then. We've now been without an awning for approx. 6 weeks. They've been paid in full and we're apparently out the $1300 we've paid them for this farce, plus what it will cost us to replace the awning, several thousand dollars minimally. They've flat out lied to us; calling on 11-3 to say they had the panels and would install the next day, cancelling 11-4 due to "weather", and today stating that the panels were incorrect and it would be a "safety hazard" to install them. When asked to explain the ever changing story they had absolutely no answer. We can only assume they've messed up the fabric panels to the extent that the whole awning now needs to be replaced, yet they refuse to tell us that, apologize in any way, take responsibility or offer any refund or resolution for this problem. When this whole debacle began we had a fully functioning awning that needed a worn valance replaced. We now have no awning, several months worth of higher than usual utility bills as a result, $1300 worth of nothing, and the ensuing costs for replacement of our missing property and legal consultation as to remedies available. It would have been appreciated if they could have simply acknowledged the continuing screw ups, admitted some culpability and at least offered to make us whole. Apparently, expecting that kind of integrity from Sun City awning was expecting far too much.
