| - Received a "collection" notice for an unpaid bill to an unknown company to me, DJO Global. Apparently, when I had shoulder surgery way back in NOvember, my sling was not included in the outrageous fees I experienced for this surgery. However, DJO Global never sent me a bill. Trust me, I got over $6000 in out of pocket bills and have been diligently paying them. Strange to find I had been turned over to COLLECTIONS for $40!!! I have no idea if this is a legit charge or not, or if this so called collection agency just surfs for patients they can dunn for money that is not owed. I asked the "gentleman"..and I use that loosely since he was so rude, if he could provide a copy of the original bill. He told me no, that I would have to look on their site. I asked him to email a copy to me, to which he replied, "I'm not going to do your work for you". I hung up. I went to the collection site and pulled up the bogus account they had created for me and all I found was the original letter AARGON had sent to me. I have reached out to my doctor...go NO help, reached out to DJO Global two days ago and they said they would "look into it" but I have not heard back. The man at Aargon told me my credit would be RUINED if I do not pay this charge. So, being held against my will, I will pay it to preserve my credit, but this is such a scam, and I am helpless against both companies. Obviously, Ididn't choose to use either company as I didn't plan on falling and destroying my shoulder. I will be forever grateful to the actual doc who fixed it, but the whole process has been daunting with no help from the doc's offices, the outside charges that keep rolling in,
and now this. It's just awful.
