| - I love Green Grotto, and I was really surprised to find this location near my home. As usual, there's popcorn, the tapioca pearls in mixed sizes, tons of magazines including AWESOME Japanese fashion mags (which my friends and I loved browsing through despite not knowing a word of Japanese), good lighting (can someone tell me what's going on over at Go for tea @ Scarborough?), friendly staff (seriously - I'm SO sick of pretentious bubbletea shops!) and the price is average!
Things to note:
- If you do take out, you can also take 15% off. And if you do take out, you should get the large, because the small cup is actually a lot smaller than what you get in a small cup if you sit in. :(
- You gotta pay with cash unless your total is $10+.
- There's lots of parking (you might have to go in the underground lot if it's a busy night) - nothing like having to compete for parking spaces against those perpetual T&T shoppers....
- Also, most of the tables at this location seem more suitable for groups of 3-4+. You probably won't have trouble getting a spot if you have a big group. They did mention they might kick out a table of two or move them, if a bigger group decided to drop in, but I've never even seen that happen in the many times I've been, and frankly that seems like it'd be kind of rude! Maybe they should invest in a few smaller tables. (In this aspect, the Warden & Steeles location is definitely better for smaller groups.)
Overall, I keep coming here for their consistently delicious drinks. Friends have told me they love their yogurty drinks, but I've been sticking to bubbletea and the occasional hot drink and haven't been disappointed.
