  • So grateful to my darling hubby who bought me a Groupon for Prema. I had a 60 minute massage and facial last week. My massage therapist's name escapes me right now, but she was very sweet. The pressure she applied was perfect. The facial was only the second I've had in my life, as I always dismissed the service as pricey and unnecessary, and more importantly I would never go out in public without foundation on my face, as I have very problematic skin (wrinkles, pimples, scars, and uneven skin tone). Boy was I wrong about it being unnecessary. My technician's name was Nadine. She was not overly friendly, but more importantly, she was professional and seemed to know what she was doing. She applied two masks - grateful to hear they were all natural products that would not interfere with the current products that my dermatologist has me on. She did a few extractions (which I had no idea at the time could cause scarring if not done properly). At the end of the session, I asked if I could reapply my normal foundation, and she said it would be better for her to apply a mineral powder. I agreed even though I was terrified to leave the office without full makeup. However, when I looked in the mirror - I was glowing! For the next 2-3 days, my skin felt divine! The products they used were excellent! I have never had good skin, and I can't tell you how grateful I was. Will I go back? Absolutely! The only reason I am not giving Prema 5 stars, is because I felt like I was being sold to at every turn. The lady at reception asked if I wanted to add 30 minutes to my facial for just $20 (which is definitely a reasonable deal). I declined as I had another appointment to get to. My massage therapist asked me the same question and then the skin technician asked me the same thing again. The salon experience needs to be as relaxed as possible, without the client having to think about money. I recommend that any up-selling questions should be asked at the beginning by the receptionist, and not again. Simple communication between staff members would alleviate this issue. Another downside is that you have to pay for parking as it is downtown. However, the suite is clean and lovely, with ample space. Overall, a very good experience. Thank you Prema. I shall see you again soon.
