| - I really enjoyed this hotel - it was very elegant, the rooms were bigger than I expected, and the elevators were super fast (surprising for an older hotel). Most important, the location could not have been better. It was an easy 10 minute walk to Eaton Center and St. Lawrence Market. We walked to the hotel from Chinatown / Kensington Market, and it wasn't too bad, either.
The parking is super expensive, so we parked at an adjacent lot that worked out really well. If you pass Le Meridien on your right on King Street, pull into the next drive, which is a public parking lot. For parking (not in and out privileged, however) Friday afternoon to Sunday afternoon, it was about $56 (hotel parking is $40 a day).
There is a Tim Horton's directly across the street, which turned out to be very convenient for coffee and breakfast.
The only weird thing about the hotel (but not that big of a deal) was the strange perfumey smell. It wasn't so overbearing that we didn't get used to it after a while, but it was not really pleasant.
