Growlers Pourhouse
Tasty bites, killer draft selection. I was walking through NoDa (the cool little neighborhood off North Davidson) heading towards NoDa Brewery, when I happened to walk by Growlers Pourhouse and I decided to skip Brewery hopping & just get a flight here. There are over a dozen microbrews on draft, from near and far, as well as a few "cask" beers and a long bottle list.
Apparently this place made Draft magazines "Best Beer Bars", well you can bring your non-beer-drinking friends as well because they have a full bar that includes a few of my favorite (whiskey) things.
To my surprise I found a great bar food menu also! I love finding clever goodies wrapped in tortillas!
The menu is limited so don't expect a full blown entree, but between the appetizers, soup, oysters, tacos etc. nobody will go hungry. Try the "root beer float" shot.
I ordered 1 pork belly taco & 1 fried chicken taco. Friends had the poutine & the pretzel, they were meh. By far the favorite of the night was the FRIED CHICKEN TACO! Prices are reasonable. Pints are $5-6 and a taco is $4. My flight was 4 (5oz.?) pours for $6!! Total $14 +tax.
