For it's one, two, three stars and we are good at the new ball stadium. In the spirit of full disclosure I haven't purchased a ticket to watch baseball. I have gone with work to the old stadium and to the new one. I like baseball, but it isn't something I would normally pay to watch.
My visit last week was with work and the ticket included their dinner buffet. I was actually impressed with the dinner buffet. Everything on there was impressive and had a wide variety of options. There were buffalo chicken wings (good, but I only had one since I didn't see any hand wipes nearby) the hotdog sliders were okay and the meatballs were delicious. I like that they included a ton of healthy options as well like asparagus, hummus and bruschetta. The office vegetarians also appreciated this.
Look, I know it is a baseball game. I know it is in the city. But I also know that back in the day Thirsty Thursday was $2 for all beers when the stadium was in SC. Now Thirsty Thursday covers $3 small pours of bud light level beers and craft beers are pricey. It was $11 for a mason jar (16 ounces) of blue moon or OMB. I can buy a whole six pack of good beer retail for that price. Ouch. Also it was pretty difficult to get a refill on the mason jar which was frustrating. I had vouchers but I was making sure to tip for every drink.
Work paid for the $38 (on group discount special) ticket and gave me $20 worth of vouchers. For a light dinner and 3 beers I would have been out $71 plus tip if I paid myself (if I could even get enough people together for the group discount).
The barthroom in the upstairs VIP area either had broken AC or never had it installed. Somewhat uncomfortable and one of the doors had the lock broken, which is unacceptable in an area that people pay extra to have access to.
The view was good from our seats and I might go back on their bark in the park day if I buy the cheap seats and eat and drink beforehand.
Other than the bathroom it wasn't a bad experience but lacked the wow factor for the price.
