| - I recently brought my vehicle in for an oil change, and to fix one of the seatbelts.
When I called in to book my reservation, I was told that there was a safety recall on the carrier case for my spare tire. I agreed to have the recall taken care of as it is done free of charge, and I assumed that it would be taken care of that day.
I dropped my vehicle off the morning of the reservation, and was told it would take about a half day to do the work. I confirmed with the service advisor that we could expect a call earlier that afternoon, and that a shuttle would be sent to pick either myself or my wife up to retrieve the vehicle.
We heard nothing from the dealership until about 2PM, when my wife decided that we should call and find out if the vehicle was ready.
We were shocked to discover that the service advisor had forgotten about us, and she told us that the shuttle only ran until 3PM. She tried to tell my wife that the dealership needed to hold onto the vehicle until Monday.
This was completely unacceptable, as I needed my vehicle to get to work on Monday, and we had the reasonable expectation that the vehicle would be ready earlier in the afternoon; based on the assessment of the situation provided to us by the service advisor.
The service advisor reluctantly agreed to have the vehicle worked on at the last minute, and sent the shuttle to pick up my wife at our home.
When we got the vehicle back, the spare tire was left in the back luggage area tied down with a ratchet strap. The ratchet strap had poked holes through the rubber mat we have in the rear cargo area. I did not appreciate that.
The booking agent and the service advisor I dealt with both neglected to mention that Toyota Canada does not as of yet have a new carrier case for the spare tire that can be installed once the old one is removed.
If I had known that there was no replacement carrier case for the spare tire, I would have taken my vehicle elsewhere to have the work done.
I asked what I am supposed to do with the spare tire now that I can no longer store it in the vehicle any longer. I was given a roadside number I can call that is run by Toyota Canada. When I asked when the new carrier case for the spare tire will be issued by Toyota Canada, I was told that the ETA on that is undtermined. I asked if the dealership could put me on a callimg list to be notified when the new part can be installed. The dealership informed me that they do not do that, but that I can contact Toyota Canada to see if they will assist me in that regard.
I cannot in good conscience give this dealership a good review because every step of the way, my service experience was very disappointing.
There was also a complete lack of interest in making amends for all of the mistakes made by the staff by management when I spoke to them.
They just smiled at me and said we are very sorry for your experience, we will try and do better next time.
There will never be a next time. I would never, ever go back to South Pointe Toyota for any kind of service. It is a complete waste of my time and money to have my vehicle serviced at this establishment, and I would strongly urge any of you reading this to find another establishment to have your vehicle serviced.
It has been said that all businesses must earn the right to a customers' patronage in a competetive market.
South Pointe Toyota, in my opinion, deserves to go bankrupt.
Don't waste your time and money. Go somewhere else.
Thank you for listening.
