| - AC quit working...outside temps in the triple digits...need to get this fixed NOW. I called in the morning to see if I needed an appointment, and was told that if I could leave it with them, they'd be able to check it out that day. They determined that the AC system was low on coolant and needed servicing. I okayed the work, and was told that they'd not noticed any leaks, and they "hoped" that this would fix the problem, but that they wouldn't know for absolute sure until they finished the job. They called to tell me that the service was done, but that during the test drive the AC, which was blowing cold, had reverted to intermittent, so it needed more diagnostic work. I okayed that additional charge. A couple of hours later they called and said that they'd pretty much exhausted their bag of tricks trying to diagnose (an intermittent problem), and that I'd have to take it to the Mercedes dealer because they had the specialized equipment necessary for further diagnostics. Not what I wanted to hear, but I can handle the truth. Turns out that they didn't charge me for the additional diagnostic work (a nice surprise), AND, best of all, after driving it for a while, the AC seems to be working just fine!
