(I wanted to give myself 2 days before writing this because it was a pretty frustrating experience. As you can see on my previous reviews, I don't really give 1 stars)
Really bad customer service and unhelpful employees and manager.
I purchased a pair of shoes from this location and there was gum inside. So I called customer service and they told me that I can give the item back even after the 2 week return policy and that they have emailed the Promenade location to let them know. Things were going smoothly.
So I visited the location and the lady at the cashier was irritated that this had happened and did not believe me that there was gum inside and refused to check inside the shoes. She then told me that I couldn't return the shoes even though I told her that I got an email. After that, she finally agreed and told me to get another pair of shoes so I went and realized that there were no shoes of my size. So I told her that and it became of whole back and forth of her not understanding why I couldn't just get it in a different colour. I went in with a peaceful attitude of just wanting to exchange the shoes but it became a very unpleasant experience.
She was never attentive or apologetic about it (she didn't have to be apologetic, but it would've been great if she didn't treat me like a liar, and I was causing trouble).
At which point I asked to speak to the manager and he had a really hostile attitude from the get go. He also kept telling me to just get a different shoe. And when I asked if I can get it from another location or online, he told me to do it myself and they wouldn't help me because it's something I want and it's not their problem (but I bought it from their store. . .). During this whole time, he kept aggressively pointing at me while he was instructing me what I have to do.
And when I asked if I can get a refund, he told me that he can only give me a $5 store credit. The reason behind it was that I got a buy one get one for $5 deal. But that would mean that I would be getting the other shoe at it's original price which defeats the whole purpose (the two shoes were of equal value).
I was honestly appalled by the lack of training the employee and manager had in handling the situation (it wasn't even a situation. . .). Having worked in retail myself, this was supposed to be the easiest task and they couldn't be polite or nice about it.
