| - Jenni Pho.... First off, I can't decide if the name of the restaurant is catchy or cheesy. Nonetheless, to the review...
Jenni Pho is the nicest and cleanest Pho restaurant I've ever been to. From appearance, the owners have done a great job of separating themselves from your prototypical Pho restaurants. The service here is pretty standard though. Broken english, unfriendly, etc. It's tough to describe, but there is a certain air here that I haven't experienced at any other restaurant. Almost as if the hostess and waiters didn't care about their patrons. This is very surprising considering they had a more staff then customers (with most of the staff just standing and joking around between themselves).
As for the food? Meh.
We ordered egg rolls as appetizers and Pho as our entrees. The egg rolls themselves were small, light in filling, with a thick friend wonton wrapper. It tasted like fried dough. We didn't even finish all of them and that never happens.
The Pho itself was decent. I ordered a custom bowl with flank, brisket, and beef. The broth was a little oily for my taste and the size of the bowl and quantity of the noodles was small. Mind you, they only serve one size here. For 8.50 a bowl, I expected more from the Pho. I guess they charge a premium given the decor... which I must say was their saving grace in my rating.
