| - The Mississauga Convention Centre remains one of my favorite spots in the city. Classy and just plain over-the-top, it's the best place in the city to hold a banquet or gala in my mind.
I came here last night for the Mississauga Arts Council MARTY Awards, and forgot just how big this place was. Walking up to the front door, you're immediately hit with a sense of pomp and grandeur, with high stone columns and brickwork framing the three entrances. Inside, I was pleasantly surprised to find that the place was decked out in black-and-red for the ceremony, and the main atrium was packed with people taking photos and schmoozing.
I've always found this place works the best for big events and galas. While the guests were treated to live music and presentation of the awards, we enjoyed a three-course meal, including butternut squash soup, stuffed chicken breast with vegetables and mini-potatoes, and a decadent chocolate mousse for dessert. The food was amazing across the board and reminds me how much I missed this place.
I can't say enough good things about it. If you're holding a wedding or event here, this convention centre is worth the drive. Everything about it screams class.
