| - This is a gorgeous hotel. The girl at the front desk (unfortunately didn't catch her name) was a veritable goddess of sweetness and hospitality. The staff were ridiculously courteous, they allowed us to check in early, and they guarded our bags after we checked out so that we could still enjoy breakfast and some shopping on our last day.
Our room was impeccably clean. The bath supplies that were provided were spa-quality. We had an awesome little espresso machine. My BFF took care of booking the hotel, and I paid her my half, $150 USD (I overheard that the overnight parking was $35 CAD). I don't know if that's reasonable or not since I have no background or experience to speak of, but $300 a night for this quality of hotel in, say, Chicago, seems standard.
My friend reserved early because she was afraid that everything would be booked up due to the jazz festival. However, she checked that same night and saw that the rooms were going for $200 :-(
We didn't use any of the hotel's amenities except we had drinks in the bar to pass time so that the rain could pass us. I HIGHLY recommend getting drinks elsewhere, our bartender only noticed us when we needed to cash out, and for one Red Bull/Smirnoff and two dirty martinis our bill was $50 CAD, which is insane in any country!
