| - I was relieved when I moved out of state and I got a job at an optometry office, knowing I would no longer have to come back to this office. Let me start off by saying, all the Dr's are GREAT. I've been a patient of Summerlin Vision Center for close to 10 years, and each Dr I've had an exam with has always been very pleasant and thorough - I've never had to come back for any issues with my prescriptions. However, it's the staff that really needs an attitude adjustment. EVERY single time I went in for my annual exam, they try to up-sell you the moment you walk into the door. They always wanted me to get the additional screening that cost more, and when I would decline (I just recently graduated college, so I was a poor college kid) the girl's would huff and puff and have an attitude the rest of the time they pre-tested me. Don't even THINK about asking for a copy of your prescription - they will NOT give it to you without a struggle. The last time I was there, I asked for a copy to take home with me because my dad had a Sam's Club membership and told me I could save money buying my contacts there. The girl at the front's immediate response was "Where are you taking your prescription? Our prices are better than 1800 contacts, etc." I told her where I was going, and she reluctantly sighed, printed it off, and handed it to me without a word. Seriously?! Especially now that I work at an optometrist's office myself, I find it so ridiculous not to give a patient their prescription.
Then most recently I was interested in getting Lasik in the state I now live, and needed to get my previous prescription from my last exam. My coworker called on my behalf to get my prescription faxed over, and they gave her quite a stink about it. I should've called myself and told them they could throw my chart away, because I will never be going back there again.
Again, Dr's were fabulous (why I gave 2 stars), but staff was atrocious.
