I've been going here 7 years and I am sad to say I will be finding another salon. I really go out of my way to come here. Each time I go in, they just seem sadder and sadder. Today didn't seem busy. I went there with my sister. There were 3 stylist there today and two other customers. The floor was full of hair per the norm but the huge pile of hair on the side of the room was extremely disturbing. I feel they leave the pile there to see how high they can get it by the end of the day. Anyway, there was no wait time for me. I recognized the three women who had been working there for years but I only knew Tina's name, who was busy with another customer.
I sat down and my stylist put the cape around me. Immediately I saw tiny gray hair all over it and realized how careless this salon has gotten. I told my stylist I just wanted a trim. She asked how much and I said 2-3 inches. She suggest more so I said ok 4-5. She tried to up-sell me the shampoo and style but I declined because I was going straight home to shower the mess off. That may have upsetted her because she took the small comb (not a brush) and started combing my waist-length hair and didn't care that I had a few tangles that hurt when she forced them to break. She didn't even use her other hand to hold the upper portion of my hair to prevent pain. The comb popped out of her hand onto the floor after the 5th tangle so she got a new comb and started to cut. Sprayed my hair once very lightly and then snip snip snip. 5 mins later she handed me the mirror and asked how I liked it. It was all so fast that I didn't even realize that meant the hair cut was over. She instructed me to look at the back of my hair with the handheld mirror. She took the cape off of me in a way that ALL the hair on the cape fell onto my lap. (Sigh of disappointment) My hair was dry and fizzy so I told her, "Umm I can't tell. It just looks like a mess." She said it looked good and asked me what my sister's name was and called her over to start on her. She didn't even sweep my hair to add to their collection before she sat my sister down.
Another thing I didn't like was that Tina was done with her client while I was with my stylist and she didn't start on my sister or even talk to her. I suppose since she was the owner she wanted the others the opportunity to earn more tips. She could have atleast said hi or like "a few more minutes."
In the car, my sister didn't like how her hair was. She said no effort was put into it. I asked how my hair looked and she wouldn't say much and chose her words carefully lol. I got home, showered, and then straighten my hair to see how it looked. She cut off alteast a foot off and it was layered so hideously. My hair wasn't even. I don't know what she was attempting. It wasn't a V cut or a U cut. Not only will I not return here but I will go to a new salon tomorrow to fix my haircut. I'll probably have to bob it now. I'm not even mad. Everything that happened today was just so horrible that it's funny.
If you decide you want to go here, ask for Tina or risk it all. Tina is usually very friendly and has good skills. Don't wing it like me.
