Had the worst customer service experience with this branch today.
I brought my minor child to the bank to open an account. All we had brought with us for her ID was a birth certificate. We were informed that Chase requires two forms of ID even for a minor. I went over the requirements with Christian and we determined that her passport would suffice as the second form of ID. I confirmed that all we needed was to return with the passport and birth certificate and we would be able to open the desired account. We retrieved her passport and returned to the bank. At this time we are informed that they also need a social security number for her. I asked why I was not given this piece of information proactively when I was at the bank not 5 - 10 minutes earlier. I was frustrated that not all the information was given to me the first time. I felt that Christian had not been proactive or anticipated this need.
I was offered no solutions or apologies.
When I asked to speak to a supervisor Becky came out. She was agitated and disrespectful. She lost her cool and spoke quickly and in a high pitched voice that was louder than the situation warranted.
I expect the bank and bankers I work with to be knowledgeable in their field and honest. Becky made several false statements to me and refused to acknowledge that her information may not be accurate. She stated that every single bank requires a social security number to open an account and that most people know this. When I explained that her information was not accurate and that a social security number isn't even legally required to have as a US citizen she got more agitated and stated that it most certainly was as they issued them in the hospital at birth.
Becky offered no apologies. I announced that a simple, "I am so sorry. That must be so frustrating to not have had all the information up front." would have sufficed. At this point I asked to close all 4 of my Chase accounts. I have been a customer since 2005 and I am so disappointed to receive such unfriendly customer service today. I will find a new bank that values their customers a bit more than my experience with this branch.
I realize I am only one of many customers to them and apparently they won't miss my business.
