I'll be the first to admit that I'm a die hard cupcake fan. My mind just switches off at the notion of cupcakes.
So when I heard about The Cupcake Shoppe at Yonge and Eglinton, I made it my mission to head down there to check out what I was missing. My only problem was that I didn't live in the area and had to wait until I had an opportunity to swing by when I was in the area.
It was worth the wait. There is a reason why the store is still in business and one can tell right away why they are so successful. I could immediately smell how great the cupcakes were as soon as I stepped in. More importantly, the staff is passionate about their product, they were eager to answer my questions and tend to my needs as a customer. I was well impressed.
Yonge and Eligible - Vanilla Cake and Vanilla buttercream. Fantastic! I saved this one for last when I tried them. ake was moist and butter cream was just right.
James Brown - Chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream. I was worried about this one because I find that a lot of chocolate cupcakes go strong with the chocolate flavor and kind of bash you over the head with it, but this cupcake was well balanced and well worth it.
Pretty n' Pink - Vanilla cake and raspberry buttercream - A nice change of pace with one of my favorite berries. Delicious Deliciousness.
If you haven't dropped by, check them out!
