  • Heroes is an exemplary store. They have helpful and knowledgeable staff, an attractive and uncluttered space and a deep selection of new comics and graphic novels, although I've been to other stores with a better back issue selection. Heroes is also the center of the Charlotte comics scene. They hold all kinds of events, including but not limited to Heroes Con. As a result, they've created a sense of community among local comics fans and creators; they've helped make Charlotte an exciting city for comics; and they've created awareness of comics among the general public. In short, Heroes is what a comic book store ought to be. The only reason I don't come here every week is because it's hard to get there on public transit.
