| - (4.5 stars) The buffet at Caesars Palace is pretty much a Vegas institution. I'd say it's easily the best on the strip although the $60 price tag we each paid, which didn't include alcohol, during the holidays was a bit excessive. Yet the place was packed and we waited 3 hours to get a table.
The buffet had so many memorable highlights, especially from the grill. To name a few, the lamb chops, prime rib, brisket, shrimp and grits, made-to-order steak tacos, meatballs, lobster ravioli, sushi, steamed crab legs, and most of all, venison with a port wine jam, were awesome. The only part that was underwhelming was the cold seafood which was icy, salty, and somewhat hard to eat.
Then, there was the dessert bar, which was beautifully decorated with a few dozen unique and tasty sweets. Make sure to save (plenty of) room for dessert because it's a treat. From the rice pudding and cheesecake to the flan and chocolate lave cake, they were superb.
I definitely overate but it was well worth it.
